The Hero Passion Pro is an upgrade to the Splendor range of commuter motorcycles. What you get for a little extra money is the same dead-reliable drivetrain and cycle parts, but with stylish bodywork, a host of funky paint schemes and modern features.
At the heart of things is the familiar 97cc single cylinder air-cooled engine, which drives the entire commuter range of Hero motorcycles with the same displacement. This engine has been worked upon to deliver a little more power and torque compared to before: the current figures stand at 8.3bhp and 8Nm of torque. The ever-present four-speed gearbox with an all-up pattern does transmission duties. The Passion Pro gets telescopic suspension in the front and five-step adjustable dual shocks in the rear with attractive scarlet springs. The Passion Pro also has the option of 18-inch cast alloy wheels instead of the spoked rims. Choose the alloy wheels, and you can opt for a disc brake as well. Both the drum and disc variants of the alloy wheels have an electric starter as standard, but you can opt for it on the spoked rim variants. The instrument cluster integrates a digital display to show the fuel gauge, service reminder, odometer and the trip meter. The speedometer remains a legible analogue unit.
The Passion Pro is available in no less than eight paint schemes – sports red, mystic white, force silver, bronze yellow, black/grey, black/blue, black/red and matte brown. To cater to a wider range of audience, the Passion Pro is offered in five variants – kick/drum/spoke, kick/drum/alloy, electric/drum/spoke, electric/drum/alloy and electric/disc/alloy. It competes with other 100cc commuters like the Bajaj Platina, TVS StaR city Plus and the Yamaha Saluto RX.
Hero Passion Pro i3S Engine
The engine on Passion Pro i3S is a 100cc one that is shared with the Splendor i3S. This engine produces about 8bhp of power and 8.05 Nm of peak torque. This comes mated to a four-speed transmission with all-up pattern. This is the same like the Splendor and other Passion pro bikes. What it gets is kick and even electric start. At the moment, it is available only with drum brakes. In the near future it will get disc brake for the front wheel.
Hero Passion Pro i3S Colours
Hero will be launching this bike with multiple colours. There will be dual tone colour options as well. To begin with, there will be a red and black, then there will be only black, and only red. There will be Force Silver, Mystic White and black with blue. This is a more trendy bike and Hero Passion Pro i3S will get multiple colour options.
